AD 31102015 sheer strake ready (4) AD 31102015 sheer strake ready (3)

In the previous week the shipwrights have set up the bolts and dumps for the permanent fixing of the sheer strake to the frames. The sheer stake has been painted and the fairing batten, for the positioning of the next plank, can be seen. The batten is the small unpainted timber below the sheer strake. The next plank will be the third plank with space for the second being left between the sheer strake and the third plank. The timber for the third plank will be steamed and clamped to the hull frames to the exact shaped needed. The inside of the plank timbers will painted for protection before being fixed to the hull frames.
